BenchTwin: build it before you buy it

BenchTwin is a free web app for designing, wiring, coding and simulating electronics and robots on a 3D bench, right in your browser. Prototype without parts: try a circuit or a robot before you buy anything, and see what goes wrong without breaking a thing.

BenchTwin is in beta and free to use. The full version is coming by January 1, 2027.

Who made BenchTwin

BenchTwin was founded by Allen Yu, Zakariya Bin Salahudeen and Yinhong Chen. They built it so anyone can try a circuit or a robot before they have the parts, without the risk of burning out a board.

BenchTwin is made for students, makers and robotics teams: people learning electronics for the first time, classes without a full lab, and teams who want to test a robot before they build it.

What BenchTwin is

BenchTwin is a microcontroller and robotics simulator that runs in your web browser, with nothing to install. You put real parts on a 3D bench, wire them pin to pin, write the code, and press Simulate to watch it work, the way it would on your desk. The parts behave like the real ones: if something wouldn’t work in real life, it doesn’t work in BenchTwin either, and it tells you why in plain words.

What you can do

Accounts and signing in

You can use BenchTwin without an account. With a free account you can save projects to the cloud and open them on any device. You can sign up with your email address, or log in with Google, GitHub or Microsoft. When you log in with Google, BenchTwin receives only your name, email address and profile picture, and uses them only to create your account, log you in and greet you by name. It doesn’t access anything else in your Google account.
